Integrative Bodywork

Integrative bodywork is the heart of Joya’s practice. Rather than following a single technique or rigid protocol, each session is guided by attentive listening to the body and its unique patterns.
Every body is different, and each session is guided by what your body is asking for in the moment. Integrative bodywork sessions blend a variety of therapeutic techniques to support circulation, release tension, and restore balance throughout the body.
You may choose from several session lengths depending on how much time and depth you would like for your treatment. Shorter sessions offer focused support for specific areas, while longer sessions allow more time to explore deeper patterns held within the body.
If you are new to this work, longer sessions often provide the space needed for a fuller assessment and deeper unwinding of the tissues. Returning clients may choose a session length based on the level of support their body needs that day.
Below you will find the available session options. Each one is guided by the same attentive, responsive approach, meeting your body where it is and working with it toward greater ease, balance, and vitality.

Depending on your needs, a session may incorporate some of the following:

Lymphatic Drainage
A gentle technique that encourages movement within the lymphatic system. This work supports detoxification pathways, reduces swelling, and helps the body clear stagnation so circulation and immune function can operate more efficiently.
Myofascial Release
A slow and attentive approach to working with the connective tissue that surrounds muscles and structures throughout the body. By softening fascial restrictions, this work can release long-held tension patterns, improve mobility, and restore ease between the muscular and skeletal systems.
Aromatherapeutics
Medicated oils and carefully selected essential oils may be used to support the nervous system, circulation, and emotional regulation. Aromatic therapies engage both the body and the senses, helping deepen relaxation and therapeutic response.
Abdominal Therapy
Gentle hands-on work with the abdomen can support digestion, lymphatic movement, and the health of the internal organs. This work may also help release tension in the psoas and core structures that influence posture, stress response, and overall vitality.
Cupping Therapy
Cupping uses gentle suction to lift and decompress tissue, helping to increase circulation, release muscular tension, and move stagnation from deeper layers of the body.
Gua Sha
An ancient East Asian technique using smooth tools to stimulate circulation, encourage lymphatic flow, and release areas of muscular restriction. This technique can be especially effective for chronic tension patterns.
Basti Therapies
Rooted in Ayurvedic tradition, basti treatments involve the use of warm medicated oils held in specific areas of the body to deeply nourish tissues, reduce dryness, and restore balance to the nervous system and joints.
Medicated Oils & Traditional Tools
Throughout the session, a variety of medicated oils and traditional therapeutic tools may be used to support the body’s natural healing processes. These substances help nourish the tissues, soften restriction, and encourage greater circulation and vitality.

Every session unfolds as a collaboration between practitioner and body.

Rather than forcing change, the work gently invites the tissues to release what they are ready to let go of.

Clients often leave feeling more spacious, grounded, and connected to their bodies, with a renewed sense of circulation and ease.

Integrative bodywork sessions are available in multiple session lengths, allowing you to choose the amount of time that best supports your body’s needs.
