A lifelong devotion to listening to the body.

Joya has spent more than thirty years working with the body through touch, presence, and careful listening.
Her path into the healing arts began long before formal training. As a child, she was naturally drawn to helping people feel better. When she was ten years old, she began studying the human body and massage techniques through books gifted by her aunt. Even then, friends and family would come to her when something hurt. What started as curiosity slowly revealed itself as a calling.
By the time she began her professional work at nineteen, Joya already understood something that continues to guide her practice today: the body carries its own wisdom. Through careful attention, patient hands, and genuine care, it often knows how to find its way back toward balance.
Over the decades, her work has evolved through thousands of sessions with people from many walks of life. Some come seeking relief from pain or injury. Others arrive carrying the quieter weight of stress, exhaustion, or life transitions. Again and again she has witnessed how profoundly the body responds when it is truly met with skill, presence, and respect.
Alongside her bodywork practice, Joya has long felt called toward supporting women’s health and the deeper rhythms of the body. This path led her into years of study in birth work, traditional medicine, and women’s healing traditions. Through these experiences she developed a deep respect for the intelligence of the body, particularly during times of change, healing, and transformation.
In recent years her studies have expanded into traditional healing systems that view the body as an interconnected whole—where circulation, digestion, emotional life, and the nervous system all influence one another. These teachings have deepened her understanding of how touch, breath, and careful attention can help restore flow and vitality throughout the body.
Today Joya continues to approach her work with humility and curiosity. Each session is guided by listening—to the body, to the person on the table, and to the subtle signals that arise through touch.
After decades of practice, one truth has remained constant: the people she serves are among her greatest teachers.
